One Hour Live Zoom Class: 5 Things You Must Do To Protect Your Money While Traveling Abroad

Monday, September 12th

4 pm PT / 5 pm MT / 6 pm CT / 7 pm ET

If there's one thing I'm passionate about - it's people's money. Earning it, saving it, protecting it and having access to it. Living abroad presents unique considerations, often things we never take into account as our only exposure is how things operate in the US. And, if we run into a significant problem in the US, we can easily pop over to our nearest local branch.

In this class we will discuss a few of the things you must do in order to protect and access your money while traveling abroad.

  • Why you should never use Google Voice for SMS short codes and your Google Voice alternatives
  • How foreign IP addresses will often block account access and why VPNs are not necessarily the solution
  • How to avoid losing access to your Paypal/Venmo/CashApp/Etc
  • What will you do if you're robbed or lose your debit/credit cards?
  • Can/will your bank be able to send a replacement card? What are other options?
  • How to avoid unnecessary fees (ATM fees, foreign transaction fees and currency conversion fees **these are three very different things)
  • Transfer options such as Wise (formerly TransferWise), Remitly, Xoom, etc. and when you'd want to use them and why

In the US we're accustomed to being able to pay nearly anything, anywhere with a credit card but that's often not the case when you're abroad. 98% of the restaurants I visit only accept cash and I buy most of my day to day groceries and produce from small shops who also don't accept credit cards and my rent has to be paid in Mexican pesos so I need to withdraw cash from the local ATMs.

In this one-hour Zoom course we'll discuss the most important things you can do to protect your money (including access). I'll also provide an action plan (checklist) and a list of resources.

The class will be offered at four different times so you can choose the one that best fits your schedule. Each date below will direct you to a unique checkout page so you receive the unique Zoom link and password for the specific date you select.

This valuable course is only $47! It will not be recorded for replay. You will also receive a digital Action Plan/Checklist and list of resources (provided during the webinar) and you'll have an opportunity to ask questions.

This checkout page is for Monday, September 12th @ 6 pm CT.
